Maple Cutting Board With Eased Corners (Chop-N-Slice Series)

We ordered 4 Boos Boards -2, 5x10, 12x17, 20x18. This was a very good investment as we replaced all of our plastic cutting boards with these workhorse maple boards. We feel good about living more sustainably and utilizing safe wooden tools to prepare food instead of toxic plastics. My husband laughed when we opened the 5x10” boards because he joked they’re too small to cut on. I disagreed and explained the smaller boards are perfect for preparing afternoon snacks for our kids and chopping garnishes for a variety of applications. I love that I can quickly grab a small board to cut fresh items and then wash the smaller size fast. It isn’t a lot of work and easier for me to manage then the larger size because of the lighter weight. We’re committing to hand washing these boards and the smaller size is what I reach for several times a day. We have already gently sanded down 2 of the boards to knock off the wood that raises/lifts from washing. This is not hard and there are a trillion videos online to watch for reference. I would absolutely recommend purchasing the mineral oils products because the boards were very dry when we received them. I wish John Boos included a sample with their boards of the special Boos protective oil. For the cost and investment folks are making that would be a great way to support the customer. But, nonetheless purchasing food grade mineral oil is not a big deal. Finally, one of the larger cutting boards we ordered had some damage on one side and a corner. I reached out to the company and shared pictures. I was prepared to try and fix the board myself but needed their guidance. A customer service rep responded promptly with a very kind email and shipped a replacement board that day. The customer service was too notch and stands by their product(s). We trust this company and will absolutely purchase from them again.

I found this board to be well made with a good thickness. It is easy to handle. It’s the right size for preparing vegetables for salads or sides.
