Effingham Awarded as 2014 Google eCity of Illinois

Google awarded Effingham as the Illinois Google eCity of 2014. This is awarded to one city in each state that recognizes the strongest online business community where small businesses use the web to find new customers, build their social media, increase websites content, grow clients and help fuel their local economies.

Wendy Gonzalez, Google’s Spokeperson, Illinois Congressman John Shimkus, Effingham IL Mayor Merv Gillenwater and Effingham County Chamber of Commerce President Norma Lansing spoke at the presentation, with Congressman John Shimkus presenting the award to Mayor Gillenwater.
