Boos Dealer Rubs Elbows With Celebrity Chefs

The biggest names in the food industry head to Apsen, Colorado to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Food & Wine Magazine Classic on July 15 - 17. And a Boos dealer is in the middle of it all! Featuring over 80 cooking and wine seminars, this event is considered the meeting place for the industry's top chefs, restaurateurs, journalists, and food and wine loving consumers. The Food & Wine Classic showcases over 50 of the world's foremost authorities on wine and food. Over 1,000 premium wines are poured by the vintners themselves in the Grand Tasting Pavillion, complemented by specialty foods from around the world.


"Foodies" flock from miles around to participate in wine tasting and cooking demonstrations, put on by the most renowned Celebrity Chefs. Mario Batali, Giada De Laurentiis, Bobby Flay, Emeril Lagasse, and Masaharu Morimoto make an appearance to give culinary speeches and/or cooking demonstrations. Many of the above mentioned Celebrity Chefs choose Boos Boards to use on the sets of their Cooking Shows which all air on The Food Network Channel. (One Celebrity Chef who uses Boos Boards regularly and is not mentioned in this article is Paula Deen). A fellow John Boos dealer, Rick Krackel, gets a chance to pose with Celebrity Chef Emeril Lagasse and his Boos Board.


Food & Wine Magazine's 2007 Best New Chefs, who were featured in Food & Wine's July issue, are also recognized at this event. They make their debut by each preparing a signature dish at an exclusive tasting dinner for 700 Classic guests. The chefs represent ten up-and-coming talents from across the country.


This event has grown tremedously since its initial establishment in 1983 in which it attracted 300 people. By 1990 the Classic had become the most renowned event of its kind. More than 2,000 people attended to see speaker Julia Child and other superchefs of the time. In 1995, more than 4,000 people were in attendance. Now, in its 25th year, the Food & Wine Classic is the premier food and wine event of the world.
